In 2009 Altai-Koks was certified for compliance with the health and safety regulations of the Russian Federation Labor Code. As a result of the audit, it was awarded with the H&S Compliance Certificate (HSCC) dated 18.12.2009.

This is the third certification audit at Altai-Koks to receive high appraisal from  the Labor Committee under the Altai Territory Administration.

The certificate confirms that health and safety procedures at Altai-Koks comply with the established state regulatory H&S requirements.

Altai-Koks has benchmark experience in health and safety management. Managers of many major enterprises of the Altai Territory and the Siberian region have visited the Company’s site to exchange experience.

The main principles of the Company’s health and safety system are:
• the priority of employee life and health preservation in the course of operation;
• supervision over conditions at workplaces, as well as over the correct use of personal and collective protective equipment;
• prevention of injuries, occupational illnesses and industrial accidents;
• provision of  high-quality and modern personal and collective protective equipment, medications and preventive remedies;
• certification of conditions at workplaces with subsequent certification of occupational safety activities;
• informing employees of conditions and occupational safety at workplaces, of injury risks, compensations and personal protective equipment they are entitled to;
• mandatory preliminary, routine and compulsory psychiatric examinations;
• provision of hygienic and therapeutic services to employees in accordance with occupational safety requirements;
• mandatory social insurance of employees against industrial accidents and occupational diseases;
• raising employees’ awareness of H&S requirements;
• elaboration of H&S guidelines for employees taking into account the opinion submitted by the elective body of the primary trade union or any other agency authorized by employees;
• availability of a package of regulatory instruments containing H&S requirements relevant to the Company’s business profile.
