The Day of Metallurgist was celebrated in Zarinsk under this motto. The holiday was traditionally divided into two parts: an official, when awards were presented in “Stroitel” Palace of Culture on July 13 to honoured workers of ÎÀÎ Altai-koks and unofficial on the next day on “Yunost” stadium, where thousands of citizens showed their force, agility and simply enjoyed themselves.

2006 was a decisive year for ÎÀÎ Altai-koks (Altaisky Krai): in late March last year, 82% of the Company shares were acquired by Novolipetsky Metallurgical Works (NLMK). In October, the Company drastically enhanced production facilities and commissioned the fifth coke-oven battery. According to year results, Altai-koks demonstrated noticeable growth of sales return: net profit accounted for 596.8 M. roubles (23.4 M. roubles in 2005).

| Altaisky Krai and NLMK plan to sign an agreement on co-operation in April |
Administration of Altaisky Krai plans to sign an agreement on co-operation with ÎÀÎ “Novolipetsky Metallurgical Works” (NLMK) having 93.64% of shares in ÎÀÎ Altai-koks in April. Control meeting between Aleksandr Karlin, the Governor of Altaisky Krai and NLMK Director Aleksandr Karlin will be held in March, and we plan to sign an agreement in April, said Sergei Loktev, Vice-Governor of the region to journalists on Monday.

In our December review of coking coal and coke producers in Russia, we assigned a recommendation for Altai-koks shares of 0.21 USD per one share. Currently, Company securities attained this line. At the same time, a new review completed by us based on comparison with similar companies says to retain former justified price, i.e. 0.21 USD per share. We recommend to hold shares of this major coke producer in the RF. However we cannot exclude re-assessment in future to the side of growth of outlined tendency of profit growth is preserved.

ÎÀÎ Altai-koks was visited by a delegation of Mining & Metallurgical Trade Union of Russia (GMPR) headed by Mikhail Tarasenko, Trade Union Chairman for a two-day visit, – informs press service of the Company. Apart from visiting main production sites of Altai-koks and social objects, members of delegation discussed a situation concerning salary growth for coke & chemical production workers. During meeting with GMPR delegation with labour teams of the Company, the Chairman of GMPR Central Board finally clarified a disputable issue.
